The reasons why the site load time may vary are many, but the most common ones are:

  • insufficient resources on the hosting package. Allocated resources can be seen by accessing Resource Usage
  •  lack of application optimization on the backend (database, PHP code, etc.) , frontend (CSS, JS, images, etc.)

When accessing a site with a database, the following operations take place:

  • runs the application code to connect and query from the database (if the database is not optimized, instead of running this process in a few millisecondes, running will take longer and will consume more resources)
  • processing data obtained from the database by application functions (if the functions are not optimized, the running will take longer than necessary and will consume more resources)
  • sending data resulting from these processes to the browser (if the images are not compressed/optimized, their upload will take longer, the same if the JS code is not optimized, running will take longer)

Each process may take more or less, depending on its optimization. Also, resource consumption varies depending on these optimization.

If for the frontend side there are optimization tools (PageSpeed Insights) ,  for the backend side you will need to contact a developer.

 

 

To redirect a site to the secure HTTPS version we can use the .htaccess file from the root directory of the site. These files can be edited either trough the File Manager available in the control panel or trough FTP.

Once we've opened the file, we'll add the following lines:

RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTPS} off
RewriteRule (.*) https://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI}

After saving the changes, the domain will be redirected to the HTTPS secured version.

If we use CMS applications (Wordpress, Prestashop, Magento, etc.), we will need to change certain settings for everything to work properly.

 

Each received payment is manually verified for the correct issue of the tax invoice. After that, the we will activate the services.

Depending on the ordered service, the time it takes to activate the services it may vary as follows:

  • for shared hosting services time may vary between 5-15 minutes
  • for VPS time may vary between 5-25 minutes
  • for SSL certificates between 5-15 minutes
  • for domain registration between 5-15 minutes

In order to activate the service we will probably need more customer information. Therefore the time required for activation will increase. For some domain extensions, even if the order is placed by us, it may take several days to activate. For more information go to Domains Terms.

 
 

In case your hosting is suspend, all information remains intact on it. Only the services offered to this hosting are stopped. Once the reason for the suspension is removed, the account becomes functionally exactly as it was before the suspension. If the hosting account remains suspend for 60 days then the data on the hosting is automatically deleted.

 
 

This question may reffer to one of the following : 

  • simultaneous visitors
  • unique visitors for a certain period
  • total views for a certain period

The above numbers  depends on the optimization level of the application used and the purchased hosting package. The elements that are exposed in Slow Load Causes are the elements that determine the number of visitors that can be reached on the the hosting package. The faster the running of each item, the more resources allocated to the hosting account are released faster and can serve other connections/requests. Of course, sometimes, even though all the items are solving for a high number of visits, you may need a package with more resources.

 

 

 

Modifying domain owner data for a .ro domain is a fairly complex process involving both Hostico as a domain registrar and the domain owner. The procedure presented is structured for better clarity in the order of execution of the steps:
1.The willingness to modify the owner data is communicated to Hostico and the proforma invoice must be paid.

Note: Changing the domain owner's data resets the period of validity of a domain to the number of years paid for change by canceling any remaining active period.

For example, the domain has a 3-year active period and the invoice is paid for one year only. The domain will be active after completion of the procedure for only 1 year and not 3 as it initially was.

The domain will have the new owner's data for the entire duration of its validity-after the period of 1 year it will not return to the original data. The resetting is only for the period of validity of the domain.

 

The exchange price of the owner is equivalent to the renewal / registration of a .ro domain :

2. It is necessary to give us the future owner's data on which the change will take place. The data required to initiate the transfer are:

For individuals:

  • Name, Surname
  • Personal identification number
  • Email
  • Phone number
  • Complete address (Country, county, town, postal code, address)

 

For legal entities:

  •  Name of legal entity
  • Unique registration code of the legal entity
  • Registration certificate
  • Email
  • Phone number
  • Complete address (Country, county, town, postal code, address)

3. You need to provide us with the right transfer key. This key can only be obtained by the domain owner in the ROTLD domain administration panel. If you need help with this procedure, you can follow the .ro Domain Transfer, but when you select the key that you want to generate instead of "Transfer to another Registrar", select "Transfer Right to Use".

4. Once you have received confirmation from us that your order has been placed on the ROTLD registrar to modify the data to the domain / domains in question, you will need to access the following link to complete the online request to change the owner's data request. In this form, you will need to fill in with the current owner's data and with the data of the future owner.

5. Immediately after completing and submitting the online form, the current owner will receive an email containing the previously completed application together with a link on which the necessary documents will be required to complete the procedure. The application will need to be printed, signed and stamped (stamping is only required for legal entities) and then uploaded to that link. In addition to the request, a copy of the current owner identity card and a copy of the Legal Entity registration certificate (if applicable) will be required.

After completion of the procedure explained above, the ROTLD register will receive the application for transfer right to use (owner).

Completion of the process may take between 4 and 14 days, and the procedure is entirely carried out by ROTLD.

 

This error message tells us that the WordPress application cannot connect to the database server. This error may have multiple causes.

The most common cause is the wrong login data in the wp-config.php file. For resolving, we will make sure that the data in the following fields are correct:

define('DB_PASSWORD', 'User password');
define('DB_HOST', 'localhost');

This data must be the same as those set in the control panel.

Another cause of this error message is the depletion of the resources allocated to the hosting package. To resolve this, you will need to optimize your WordPress application and/or think about a higher hosting package.

Some hosting packages offer SSH access, either on the normal user or on the root user, depending on the table below:

In order to receive SSH access, if the hosting package offers this, you will need to send an email to technic@hostico.ro with the following data :

-a public SSH key
- the IP used to connect to SSH

After the request has been received, the technical department will make the necessary configurations to give you access.

In the case of unmanaged VPS (managed by the client), SSH login data will be sent to the Hostico account email box. In this case , you don't have to send us the data mentioned above.
