New Hostico measures to align with DSA requirements
Learn about the latest updates regarding the application of the Digital Services Act (DSA) and user responsibilities in managing online content.

Starting from the year 2022, the Digital Services Regulation was adopted at the level of the European Union, also known as the Digital Services Act or DSA. It establishes clear rules for digital service providers, including web hosting providers, aiming to increase transparency, safety, and accountability in the online environment. From February 2024, the provisions of the DSA have generally become applicable across the European Union for most intermediate service providers.
Hostico already had internal mechanisms for managing complaints and reported content, however, to fully align with the new requirements, additional measures have been implemented.
Thus, in addition to the existing addresses (intended for users and third parties, Art. 12 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 DSA):
- complaints@hostico.com - for requests in Romanian;
- complaints@hostico.com - for requests in English;
the addresses have also been introduced:
- dsa@hostico.com - for requests in Romanian;
- dsa@hostico.com - for requests in English;
These are intended exclusively for communication with the competent authorities, in accordance with Article 11 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065.
At the same time, within the Hostico Terms and Conditions, the section X. Content Policy has been updated to clarify how reported content and notifications received through official channels are managed. For additional details, we recommend consulting the Terms Update page.
It is important to remember that compliance with applicable legislation is not only the responsibility of the service provider but also of the end users. Service holders must ensure that the materials published through the infrastructure used do not violate the law and do not infringe upon the rights of third parties.
Hostico acts as an intermediary service provider and has no obligation to actively monitor the hosted content. However, in the event that notifications are received via official channels, they are analyzed and handled in accordance with the applicable legal framework and the Hostico Terms and Conditions.
In the case of Reseller accounts or VPSs used for web service reselling, the responsibility extends to the end clients managed by them. Resellers and administrators of these services must forward relevant notifications and implement the necessary measures when these are requested.
