Introduction

  • The ROTLD control panel offers the ability to create custom nameservers on the owned domain.

Requirements

  • We will need the ROTLD authentication data.
  • Access to the email inbox associated with the ROTLD account (where the confirmation link for the actions taken in the account will be sent).
  • The IPs of the nameservers. These IPs can be found in the email with management data of the reseller package, VPS, etc.

Steps

  • The ROTLD authentication interface will be accessed at the following address: https://rotld.ro/domadmin/
  • We will fill in the domain name and password, after which we will click the Continue button.

Logare cont Rotld

  • The main interface of the ROTLD administration panel will be loaded.
  • To begin with, we will create the custom nameservers. For that, we will click on Nameservers.

Nameservere panou Rotld

  • On this page we will be able to see the current nameservers set for the domain.
  • In this case, we do not have any nameservers set on the domain. To create new nameservers, we will click on Create/Modify/Delete at the bottom of the page.

Creare nameservere panou Rotld

  • The next page will provide the option to create new nameservers or update existing nameservers.
  • We will move on to filling in the fields at the point "New nameserver on the domain ..... ":
-Server Name: here we can give a name to the new nameserver. For example, if we write ns1 in this field, the nameserver will be called ns1.example.ro
-Server IP Address: Here we will enter the IP address of the nameserver. These IPs are present in the email with the administration details.
  • After the fields have been filled out, we will click on the Create Nameserver. button.

Crează nameserver panou Rotld

  • Immediately after pressing the button, we will be greeted by an informational message "An email has been sent to the email address ....................... containing the confirmation key. Use this key to confirm the operation "Creating Nameserver" which is in the process of confirmation!"
  • ROTLD will send an email containing a link (the confirmation key). Once we access this link, the operations performed in the account will be confirmed.
  • We will open the email sent by ROTLD and click on Confirm the operation.

Confirmare operatiuni

  • After accessing the link, a window will open displaying a success message "The update was made successfully. Please check the updated data!".
  • After these operations, the nameserver has been created. For each nameserver (e.g., ns1, ns2, ns3, etc.), we will have to repeat the steps above.
  • In the Create/Modify/Delete menu on the Nameservers page, we will have the possibility to view the nameservers created for the domain. Here we can also make changes to existing nameservers or even delete those that are no longer in use.

Vizualizare namesevere create

  • The image above is just an example, the number of nameservers in your case may differ. The field IP #2: represents IPV6. It is not mandatory for your nameservers to also include an IPV6 address.
  • Now that we have successfully created all 4 nameservers, we will proceed to set them up on the domain. We will click on Nameservers again, fill in the created nameservers in the fields, and click on Update.

Setare nameservere pe domeniu

  • As before, you will need to confirm the operations by accessing the link sent to your email inbox.
  • From this moment on, the nameservers are set on the domain. We just need to wait for their propagation, a process that can take up to 24 hours.
