Learn how to view statistics about your website's traffic through Plesk, including data about storage space and visitors, for an effective evaluation.

Introduction

  • In this tutorial we will discover how we can view traffic statistics for our website through Web Statistics.
  • Finally, when your site is performing well and search engines are returning it in search results, it is the best time to evaluate the efficiency of the site by viewing the statistics for web traffic.

Requirements

  • A Plesk account

Steps

  • After logging in to the panel, go to the Statistics section in the left menu and select the website for which you want to view the statistics.

  • In the next window, two boxes with charts appear that are divided into:
  • 1. Disk Space - the storage space occupied by the files related to the site, divided into categories such as the site itself, emails, databases, etc.
  • 2. Traffic - the data traffic of the site, in MB, of the main services such as FTP, HTTP (traffic from the site), SMTP (email traffic), etc.

  • For more details about the website traffic, divided by services, there are four buttons under the two boxes that lead to separate pages with the following information:
  • 1. FTP Statistics - report of the amount of data transferred via the FTP service from the site to external locations and vice versa.
  • 2. Data Transfer Statistics - report on the amount of data transferred by the site (HTTP and FTP) and mail (SMTP, POP3/IMAP).
  • 3. Web Statistics - a comprehensive report that shows the number of visitors to the site over a certain period of time on the unsecured version.
  • 4. Web Statistics SSL-TLS - report on the number of visitors on the secure HTTPS version with an SSL certificate. Alternatively, you can access https://demo.hostico.ro/plesk-stat/webstat/. Web Statistics will open in a new window, where you can choose the display period with the Select Period button or by selecting a filter from the left side of the page.
