Manual configuration of the email account in Thunderbird

Introduction

• In this tutorial we will show you how to manually configure your email account in Thunderbird.

Requirements

• The email address and its password.
• Email client Thunderbird installed.
• Email server settings (IMAP, POP3, and SMTP).

Steps

• Open the Thunderbird application, click on Tools, then on Account Settings. At the bottom of the window, select Account Actions and click on Add Mail Account.

• Fill in the fields with the following information:
  • Name: The name that will appear as the sender.
  • Email address: The full email address.
  • Password: The email account password.
  After completion, click on Continue.

• To manually configure the email account, click on Manual config.

• We recommend setting up your email account using the IMAP protocol.
• Fill in the fields with the following settings:
  • Username: Full email address (e.g. florin.petran@hostico.com).
  • Password: The email account password.
  • Incoming server: hostico.ro.
  • IMAP Port: 993 or POP3 Port: 995.
  • Outgoing server: hostico.ro.
  • SMTP Port: 465.

• After filling in the details, click on Done to complete the email account setup.
