Emails sent are taking a long time to reach the destination. What is the cause?
The duration between the sending and receiving of an email can vary depending on certain factors. Find out what they are!
Before an email is sent, it will undergo some checks that may affect the time it is sent. The mail server will determine if the sender is authorized to send the message. The spam prevention program will determine if the message can be considered spam. The message will enter the mail queue of the server and wait to be sent. Then, the same steps will be taken by the recipient's mail server when it receives the message.
All of this happens very quickly and the delivery time of a message is usually under a minute. However, it can take a few minutes/hours in the following cases:
- a high number of verification emails on either of the two servers (sender / recipient) (congestion on equipment)
- network congestion
- a high number of checks performed by either of the servers (antispam, dkim, spf, dmarc, etc )
If the delay is caused by an issue with our server or the recipient's, a report detailing the encountered problems will be returned to your inbox. You can forward this email to us for a thorough check.
