I purchased a hosting package and I want to transfer one or more websites to you. How should I proceed?
The migration procedure can be a complex one. This article provides you with all the information you need.
If you have one or more websites hosted by another company and wish to transfer them to Hostico's servers, please send an email to help@hostico.com or open a ticket from your Hostico client account. In your request, include the following information:
- Authentication details: Please provide the access details for the current hosting control panel (for example, cPanel, Plesk, Webmin). If the control panel is not available, please provide the FTP login details, database access (remote, phpMyAdmin, etc.), SSH access details, or any other relevant information.
- Domains and preferences: Specify which domains you wish to be transferred. If you have preferences regarding what and how should be transferred, mention them in the request.
- Transfer date and time: Indicate your preference for the date and time of the transfer. Usually, this is set by mutual agreement, depending on the request and the scheduled work by Hostico. If you have high email traffic or orders, we recommend that the transfer be carried out during low activity periods (for example, at night).
How long will the transfer take?
The duration of the transfer depends on the amount of data that needs to be moved and any limitations imposed by the current hosting.
My site was developed locally and is not hosted anywhere. How can I transfer it?
You will need to archive the files and the database of the site and upload the archive to the Hostico servers. You can carry out this action as follows:
- Through File Manager: Use the File Manager in the control panel to upload the archive.
- Via FTP: Connect using FTP with the access details found in the administration information email.
After the archive has been uploaded, please confirm with us via email. Our team will begin the installation and configuration of the site immediately after confirmation.
